JOIA Aruba by Iberostar is the newest entry in Aruba's competitive all-inclusive market, and it arrived with credentials worth paying attention to. The property sits on Eagle Beach - a stretch of sand that has consistently ranked as the Caribbean's best, with powdery white sand and the kind of turquoise clarity that looks like a screensaver but is completely real. Opening at the end of 2024, JOIA is the all-suite, adults-only, butler-service version of Iberostar's Aruba portfolio, and it's clearly aimed at travelers who want a step up from the typical high-volume resort. Early guest feedback describes it as impeccably clean, beautifully designed, and staffed by genuinely warm and attentive people.

The amenities package here is thoughtfully assembled for a specific traveler. Golf enthusiasts get preferential access to Tierra del Sol, the only professional 18-hole course in Aruba, designed by Robert Trent Jones II. Spa visitors find a proper destination spa rather than a hotel add-on. The adults-only pool and swim-up bar create a social environment that's lively without being chaotic. Three infinity pools give you options depending on your mood. The one caveat that first-wave guests noted is that the resort opened while some facilities - additional specialty restaurants and the casino - were still being built, so some early stays reflected a property not yet at full capacity. By 2026 those phases should be complete.

This resort is the right call for adult couples, honeymooners, and golf-focused travelers who want Aruba's best beach with upscale amenities and a quieter, more intimate feel than the dense Palm Beach corridor. It competes directly with the Bucuti and Tara Beach Resort (also adults-only and on Eagle Beach) for the same high-end traveler, with JOIA offering the all-inclusive structure that Bucuti does not. If you want a resort that feels new, well-staffed, and genuinely luxurious without driving 20 minutes to find a beach worth sitting on, JOIA is currently one of the best options in Aruba.

Pros

  • +Directly on Eagle Beach, ranked the #1 beach in the Caribbean and #2 in the world - the sand and water quality here are genuinely extraordinary
  • +Brand-new property (opened late 2024) means pristine facilities, modern design, and none of the wear-and-tear that plagues older Aruba resorts
  • +Adults-only concept paired with butler service and all-suite accommodations makes this one of the most upscale all-inclusive offerings in Aruba
  • +Access to Tierra del Sol, Aruba's only professional 18-hole golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones II, with preferential tee times and green fee discounts for guests
  • +Three freshwater infinity pools where the water appears to merge with the ocean horizon - the swim-up bar setup gets specific praise from guests
  • +Spa facilities are a standout feature that travelers highlight as a true destination experience rather than a resort add-on
  • +Aruba's consistent trade winds mean virtually no rainy days and lower humidity than most Caribbean islands - an underrated advantage that guests love
  • +Nightclub on property means you don't need to leave for evening entertainment, and the combination with the adults-only pool keeps energy age-appropriate

Cons

  • Property was still under construction through mid-2025, with additional restaurants and casino facilities not yet open - some early guests experienced an incomplete resort
  • Pricing is at the top tier for Aruba all-inclusives, and the value equation shifts if you're not taking advantage of the golf, spa, and butler service
  • Being brand new means fewer reviews and less established community knowledge about what to request, which rooms to book, or which staff members are exceptional
  • The buffet dining format, while quality, may feel repetitive for longer stays until the additional specialty restaurants open
  • Aruba's beaches are all public by law, so the resort's 'private beach' is more of a reserved chair section than true exclusivity
  • The resort is on the quieter Palm-Eagle Beach stretch, farther from the main hotel corridor in Palm Beach where most nightlife and shopping is concentrated
  • Golf access is a noted perk, but the green fees at Tierra del Sol are not fully included in the all-inclusive rate - only the cart, preferential times, and practice area access are covered
  • The swim-up bar concept in an adults-only setting works well, but guests note that the bar area can feel crowded in the afternoon as it's the social hub of the property

We went to Gaia 2 nights in a row and had excellent service and great food. The wagyu burger was amazing and the steak was great too. Gnocchi and mixed vegetables were very tasty. We did not stay at the hotel but the hotel and grounds are beautiful
