Tamarijn Aruba earns its loyal following by doing the beach experience right on one of Aruba's most reliably calm and swimmable stretches of coast. The resort sits on Druif Beach, a sheltered cove with the kind of flat, clear water that makes snorkeling accessible directly from the shore - no boat tour required. The activity programming is one of the most complete in Aruba's all-inclusive category: free windsurfing clinics, included non-motorized watersports, bicycle rentals along a boardwalk, and tennis courts with a weekly clinic give active travelers a full schedule without extra charges. The shared access agreement with the adjacent Divi Aruba effectively doubles the dining and beach territory, which adds real value to the stay.

The resort's character is relaxed and unhurried - which is a feature for the right traveler and a problem for those expecting entertainment energy. Chair availability is excellent compared to larger resorts in Cancun or the Dominican Republic, and the staff warmth receives consistent and specific praise across almost every review. The food story is split: the specialty restaurants, particularly the Asian restaurant Ginger, are genuinely good, while the buffet earns much lower marks. Travelers who plan around the a la carte restaurants have a substantially better culinary experience than those who default to the buffet.

Tamarijn works best for adults and couples in their 30s-50s who want an active beach vacation with watersports included, reliable weather (Aruba sits outside the hurricane belt), and a lower-pressure atmosphere than the larger Dominican or Mexican resorts. Families with young children will find the activity programming adult-centric and may miss having a dedicated kids club. Budget-conscious travelers should compare carefully against Manchebo Beach Resort or Bucuti & Tara, which offer boutique experiences at competitive prices. For guests who want all-inclusive convenience with real watersport options and Aruba's famous consistent sunshine, Tamarijn consistently delivers.

Pros

  • +Druif Beach frontage is one of Aruba's best all-inclusive beach stretches - calm, protected waters ideal for snorkeling and swimming without rough surf
  • +Snorkeling right off the beach is genuinely productive - the calm clear water and reef proximity mean you don't need to book a separate tour to see marine life
  • +Free windsurfing clinic and non-motorized watersports included in the all-inclusive rate, which is exceptional value compared to resorts that charge extra for water sports
  • +Bicycle rentals are available on property with a dedicated boardwalk for riding - a rare activity amenity that guests call a welcome change from just lying on the beach
  • +Free tennis courts with weekly tennis clinic means there's always something competitive available for guests who want structured activity
  • +Resort never feels overcrowded - guests consistently report being able to find chairs at the beach and pool without the towel-saving battles common at larger properties
  • +Specialty restaurants including an Asian restaurant (Ginger) receive specific praise for food quality that rises above typical all-inclusive expectations
  • +Shared access with the adjacent Divi Aruba All Inclusive means guests get a wider dining selection and more beach territory than either resort offers alone

Cons

  • Rooms near the back of the resort pick up highway noise and weekend Oranjestad party music that can blast until 3am - room location matters significantly here
  • The buffet gets mixed reviews, with several guests calling it below average while the specialty restaurants are consistently better - all-inclusive guests who rely on the buffet will be disappointed
  • Entertainment quality is weak - bands and shows range from mediocre to forgettable, and guests expecting a lively evening program will be underwhelmed
  • Room maintenance issues reported across multiple reviews including key cards that don't work, balcony doors with sticky latches, and railings needing repair
  • Front desk is not reliably reachable by phone, which forces in-person trips to resolve any issue and is frustrating when you're settled at the beach
  • Pricing sits at the upper end of the Aruba all-inclusive market, and some guests question whether the food and entertainment quality justify the cost
  • No significant kids club programming or structured children's activities, which makes this better suited to adults and families with older kids than young families
  • The shared property dynamic with Divi Aruba can create confusion about what's available where, and some Tamarijn guests report feeling like second-tier guests at certain Divi venues

Close to airport, friendly staff, better food than Cancun all inclusives. We were in building 22 which is a 5 minute walk to the lobby and dining, but worth it for the beach access. More secluded and easier to save spots. Really appreciated the round...

The restaurants are good once you get a reservation, which for the first two days is challenging. You need your room number to book, and you can only book two days out, but the food is very good. Service is friendly, and the rooms, while basic for t...
