Booby Cay boat trip

Day trip · Negril, Jamaica

A full day on the water, roughly seven hours. The boat makes two snorkel stops, one of them in old sea caves along the cliffs, and the crew explain the reef creatures as you go.

Lunch is on Booby Cay, the small uninhabited island off Negril, where the crew grill fresh lobster and jerk chicken over coals and serve it with rice and peas and steamed vegetables. Lobster is out of season from late April to the end of June, when crab, fish or shrimp take its place. Rum punch, beer and soft drinks are included.

The day ends off Rick's Café on the West End cliffs at sunset, with the chance to go ashore and jump. The boat is smaller and the day longer than on the big catamarans out of Negril, which are shorter trips and more of a party.
