Ferry from Hamilton to Royal Naval Dockyard
Day trip · Hamilton Parish, Bermuda
The Blue Route fast ferry leaves the Ferry Terminal on Front Street and reaches the Royal Naval Dockyard in 15 to 20 minutes, against an hour on the bus. Heading out you pass the pink Hamilton Princess and the white roofs of Fairylands, and some sailings also call at Watford Bridge and Cavello Bay in Sandys. Boats run often, with extras on Wednesday evenings for Harbour Nights.
Fares go by zone. Pay in exact cash, use a token or ticket, buy a 1 to 7 day pass that covers buses too, or use the Shorelink app (it needs data to validate). Hamilton and Dockyard have wheelchair access. The Royal Navy's base at the far end was built over decades by enslaved people and convicts, and its Casemates barracks now hold the National Museum. The Commissioner's House, the Craft Market, the Clocktower Mall and the easy swimming at Snorkel Park Beach are all close by. In summer the seasonal Orange Route runs on from Dockyard along the North Shore to St. George's in 45 minutes.
