- −The complex is enormous and the winding jungle layout is genuinely disorienting. Getting from a TRS suite to a specific restaurant or the beach can be a long walk or a wait for a golf cart, and new arrivals routinely get lost for the first day or two
- −TRS runs quiet-luxury programming rather than an animation team. There are daily oceanfront yoga and aerobics classes, kayaks and paddleboards on the beach and the CHIC dinner show, but if you want a full day of organised activity you have to go over to the family side for it
- −At roughly 400 to 500 dollars a night it is among the most expensive all-inclusives on the Riviera Maya, and the most common complaint from otherwise happy guests is that the food does not fully justify the premium
- −Sargassum is a real seasonal problem on this stretch of coast near Akumal. A 2026 guest reported it making both the beach and the seaside pool unusable during their stay, and they were fair enough to say it is not the resort's fault
- −The beach is shared with the Grand Palladium properties and reaching it means walking out through parts of the family complex, so the adults-only bubble ends at the sand

TRS Coral is the newer, sleeker property with a long, walkable Costa Mujeres beach and easy access to Isla Mujeres. TRS Yucatan trades beach quality for setting: lush jungle grounds with resident wildlife, and a prime launch point for cenotes, Xel-Há, and Tulum — though the walk to its weaker beach is a recurring gripe. Beach-first couples head to Coral; nature lovers and excursion planners head to Yucatan.
