Circuito Mágico del Agua
Adventure park · Lima, Peru

Thirteen fountains run by computer fill the Parque de la Reserva, a 1920s park in Santa Beatriz squeezed between the Vía Expresa and Avenida Arequipa, and after dark every one of them plays with coloured light and music. It holds the Guinness record for the largest fountain complex in a public park. The biggest, the Fuente Mágica, shoots a jet more than 80 metres up.
Children head for the ones you can get into. The Túnel de las Sorpresas is a 35-metre walk under an arch of water, and the Fuente de los Niños is a play fountain children can run straight into. The 120-metre Fuente de la Fantasía is where the laser and projected-image show runs to music on a fixed schedule, so find out the show times at the gate and be there early. A tunnel under the road joins the two halves of the park. Entry is a small paid ticket, and some free evening walking tours of central Lima finish here.
