Deer Island boat and snorkel trip

Day trip · Mazatlán, Mexico · runs Isla de Venados

Isla de Venados is the long island off the Zona Dorada, about 1.8 kilometres from end to end, with white sand beaches and no electricity. It is one of three islands here (with Pájaros and Lobos) that belong to the protected area of the Gulf of California islands.

The day trips leave from the El Cid marina on a 50-foot trimaran with a domestic open bar from the moment it pulls out. On the island there is snorkelling, beach volleyball and a banana boat ride, and lunch tends to be the local seafood: shrimp, ceviche and pescado zarandeado. The whole outing runs about five hours. Smaller boats for four to ten people make the same run from that dock, some with food and a bar.
