Layou Petroglyphs

Ruins · Buccament, Saint Vincent

Rock carvings left by the Island Caribs before the 1700s, a short walk inland from the Leeward Highway in Layou, the west-coast town between Buccament and Barrouallie. The Caribs had a settlement here before the French arrived. The lines are faint, and they show up much better once someone outlines them in chalk.
