Sportfishing trip from Cambutal

Cambutal calls this the Tuna Coast. The continental shelf falls away steeply just off the beach, so deep water and the big pelagic fish are a short run out: yellowfin tuna, wahoo, mahi mahi and marlin, with roosterfish and grouper closer in. Trips go out with local fishermen and are arranged through the hotels and a few operators in the village.

Cambutal has no ATM and no fuel station, so bring cash for the boat. From July to October humpback whales are in the same water.
