Sunset cruise on Cartagena Bay

Day trip · Cartagena, Colombia

Late in the afternoon the boats slip out of the Muelle La Bodeguita, and some from Muelle de los Pegasos, for about two hours on Cartagena Bay. You go for the sun going down over the water, with the walled city on one side and the tower blocks of Bocagrande on the other.

Pick the boat for the mood you want. Catamarans are the calm option, with a drink or two, a snack and a bar for anything more. Party boats come with an open bar of rum and cola, an entertainer and loud music, and some carry on into a bar crawl around the old city after docking. Later departures run after dark. Be on board before the departure time, and check whether the port boarding fee is in the price or paid in cash at the pier. Trips are called off in bad weather.
