Whale and dolphin watching

Day trip · Huatulco, Mexico · runs December to March

This one goes out of the bays into open Pacific, looking for the whales that migrate along this coast. Boats leave the Santa Cruz dock in the morning and spend about four hours searching; with hotel pickup from Tangolunda, Santa Cruz, La Crucecita or Conejos, the outing runs five hours or a little more.

Dolphins sometimes ride the bow, and turtles, manta rays and seabirds are common. The whales are not promised and sightings swing with weather and the season. Guides speak English and Spanish and hand out identification sheets, and water and soft drinks come on board. There is a small port fee paid on the day.
