Sailrock is what people mean when they say they want to feel like they have a Caribbean island to themselves. It sits on South Caicos, a sleepy fishing island in the Turks and Caicos well away from the Grace Bay crowds, between the Atlantic and the shallow turquoise Caicos Bank, so you get two beaches and two very different kinds of water. It is a Small Luxury Hotels of the World member and part resort, part residential community, with Ridgetop Suites on the ridge, Beachfront Villas along Long Beach and more secluded Private Peninsula Villas. The service is warm and personal without being stiff, and you book it to decompress rather than to be entertained.

−Flies and mosquitoes can be a nuisance at the outdoor dining terraces in some seasons
−AC units in some villas are loud enough to disrupt sleep, and water pressure in older rooms has been described as weak
−South Caicos has almost no taxis or rental cars and rough roads, so you rely on the resort's golf carts and transfers and are effectively based at the resort for the whole stay
−Quiet evenings: dinner, the Great House bar, a weekly beach grill night with a bonfire at The Cove and the stars are about it, with no shows or nightlife

The Beachfront Villas have private pools and full kitchens, the Ridgetop Suites have the best views on the property, and as of October 2026 the resort is rolling out new interiors across both, after a redesign of the Great House. Dining runs through two venues: the Great House Restaurant & Bar, with its wrap-around terrace, infinity pool and hot tub, and the more casual Cove Restaurant & Beach Bar on the Caicos Bank, both on rotating menus built around local seafood, plus room service, private chefs and a weekly beach grill night. All-inclusive is available as an optional plan rather than included by default. Na Spa works out of hillside Ridgetop Cabanas over the Caicos Bank or in your villa, and does not admit children under 16. Snorkeling, paddleboarding and Hobie Cat sailing at The Cove are free, while bonefishing lessons, diving and boat trips cost extra.

Sailrock suits couples, divers and anglers who want pristine water and total peace, and increasingly families and groups who want a big villa with a kitchen and resort service around it. There is no dedicated kids club, though the new courts and a planned Activity Center give children more to do. It sits at the top of the Turks and Caicos price range alongside the region's boutique luxury properties, and the remoteness that makes it special also means the resort is most of your trip. Beyond the property, the resort arranges whale watching in season, conch diving, sport fishing and bonefishing.

How do you get to Sailrock South Caicos?

The simplest route is American Airlines' direct flight from Miami to South Caicos, about two hours, which runs Wednesdays and Saturdays and adds Mondays from February 15, 2027. BermudAir also flies Newark to South Caicos on Thursdays and Sundays from December 20, 2026 to April 25, 2027. Otherwise, fly into Providenciales and take one of the daily 30-minute island-hop flights; the resort's reservations team can arrange it, and it shuttles guests from South Caicos airport to the property.

Is Sailrock all-inclusive?

Not by default. Rooms are sold on their own, and an all-inclusive plan is available as an optional add-on at extra cost. Tour-operator listings describe it as covering meals at both restaurants and drinks by the glass, with champagne and bottles of wine or liquor extra and supplements on holiday and special-occasion menus. If you only have a drink or two a day, paying a la carte is often cheaper.

Is the snorkeling and diving worth the trip?

For most water lovers, yes. South Caicos sits on the edge of the Caicos Bank with healthy reefs, wall dives and very little boat traffic. Snorkeling and paddleboarding from The Cove are free, and the resort arranges scuba diving, conch diving, sport fishing and whale watching in season as paid excursions. The big advantage is how few other divers you will share the water with.

Is Sailrock good for families?

It works well for families who want space, especially in the Beachfront Villas, which sleep 3 to 10 with private pools and kitchens. There is no dedicated kids club, but children get free water toys, water hammocks at The Cove, sand volleyball and the new tennis, pickleball and basketball courts, and the resort is adding an Activity Center with space for children's programming. Note that Na Spa does not admit children under 16.

What is there to do in the evenings?

Not much, by design. Evenings revolve around sunset drinks at the Great House bar or The Cove, dinner, and a weekly beach grill night at The Cove that ends with a bonfire and s'mores. The resort also offers mixology lessons and private bonfires for a fee. There is no nightclub or show program, and the town has very little open after dark.
