The Verdict

Food is the split. Guests who've eaten at both are nearly unanimous that Atelier's thirteen restaurants are a step up, but ten of them take reservations and the steakhouse and Italian book solid, while Excellence is walk-in everywhere except the teppanyaki tables — the thing its regulars prize most. Excellence is older, with suites being refreshed building by building and repeaters saying menus have been trimmed, but it is smaller, couples-heavy, and livelier at night. Atelier is sleeker and bigger, draws conferences that can take over a pool, and keeps its rooftop infinity pool behind the expensive INSPIRA tier; Excellence Club and swim-up suites cost less to reach. Foodies go Atelier; honeymooners who want to walk into dinner go Excellence.
