The scale is what you are paying for. All 450 accommodations are suites, every one with a round Jacuzzi, a marble bathroom with a double shower, a 55 inch TV and 24-hour room service. Seven pools cover 55,500 square feet, five heated in winter, with a lazy river running through the gardens and the Miile Spa hydrotherapy circuit adding a cold plunge, saunas, a stone walk and specialty showers. Eleven restaurants and eleven bars cover the week without a single reservation except the Teppanyaki tables at Spice. The food is a clear step above the big volume chains without being a reason in itself to come, and suites have been getting refreshed one building at a time through 2026, so the room you get can feel either current or a decade old depending on where you land.

This is a resort for couples in their thirties through fifties who want a dependable week with enough variety to fill it, and it is adults-only at 18 and over rather than couples-only, so you will see friend groups and mother-daughter trips alongside honeymooners. The Excellence Club rooftop terrace suites with private plunge pools are the upgrade worth stretching for. If you want couples-only quiet, the smaller Beloved Playa Mujeres next door is run by the same company; if you want the newest rooms in the area, Excellence Coral opened beside it in February 2025. The Greg Norman golf course, an inland marina and the ferry to Isla Mujeres are all within a short drive.
