Excellence Playa Mujeres has grown-in trees, a lazy river, a poolside pizza oven and livelier evenings, but suites are being refreshed building by building through 2026 (ask which blocks are done) and the frosted-glass bathroom partition bothers people. Coral's grounds look bare and it runs quieter with fewer activities, but rooms are immaculate, the bathrooms have real doors, and guests who've stayed at both call the food and the Excellence Club tier a step up, at a noticeably higher rate non-club guests feel most.
