The structural difference: Le Blanc is adults-only, Grand Velas welcomes families (with a strong kids/teens program). Grand Velas typically runs a few hundred dollars a night more and delivers dramatic architecture, huge suites, and a showpiece spa; Le Blanc counters with resort credits, included airport transfers, acclaimed dining, and its signature butler-and-spa pampering at a relatively lower rate. Both beaches are Pacific-side scenery more than swimming spots. Couples default to Le Blanc; multigenerational luxury trips default to Grand Velas.
