Antigua Rainforest Zip Line

Adventure park · Antigua

Twelve ziplines run through the forest off Fig Tree Drive near Wallings, from 52 to 328 feet long, linked by an aerial walkway and two swinging suspension bridges. The full course with the jeep ride from your hotel takes about four hours. Shorter versions cut it to eight lines (an hour) or six (45 minutes), and a 24-obstacle ropes course can be added, though it needs an arm span of at least five feet.

The minimum age is 4, as long as the child weighs 40 pounds and fits a waist and chest harness. Wear trainers rather than flip-flops, and leave skirts and dresses at the hotel. Your own camera stays in a locker (lockers cost nothing) and photographers on the course sell pictures afterwards. Light rain doesn't stop the tours; lightning does. Pickup comes with some packages, but Sandals and several other resorts won't let the driver in, so you walk out to a meeting point. Otherwise a taxi or rental car gets you there, and a bar and veranda wait at the end. Combination days pair a shorter run of seven lines with a speedboat to Stingray City or a mangrove kayak and snorkel.
