Los Veranos Canopy Tour

Adventure park · Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Nineteen ziplines, more than two miles of cable in all, run back and forth over the Horcones River valley behind Boca de Tomatlán. The big one is Patrick's Line, about half a mile long and 600 feet above the jungle. Between lines there are short walks, including about ten minutes uphill on dirt trail, so it is moderate rather than hard.

Getting there is part of the morning: a jungle truck from Puerto Vallarta or Nuevo Vallarta, or a speedboat down the coast to Boca. The whole outing takes about five hours. Afterwards there is a small sanctuary of rescued monkeys, toucans, macaws and iguanas, natural pools and a waterslide in the river (closed in heavy rain), and a tequila tasting. Lunch at the riverside café is paid separately. Riders must be at least 5 years old and 40 inches tall and under 129 kg, pregnant women cannot ride, and shoes with a heel strap are required. Lines run in the rain.
