Sunset sail from Marina Vallarta

Sailboats and sailing catamarans head out of Marina Vallarta in the late afternoon into the middle of Banderas Bay, where you can look back at the city and the green wall of the Sierra Madre as the sun drops into the Pacific. The trips last two and a half to three hours. Most serve appetizers and an open bar; some are adults only, from age 16.

Dolphins are a common sight, and in winter humpbacks. Have some cash ready for the small dock fee. Anyone wanting a louder night picks the pirate ship cruise, with dinner, fireworks and a show, instead.
