Pinilla Canopy Tour

A small, low zip line in the dry forest near Hacienda Pinilla, on the road between Tamarindo and Avellanas, and a good first one for children. The seven lines are short and not very high, and the course crosses a dry streambed where howler monkeys sometimes hang about. Between lines there is a wobbly hanging bridge, a Tarzan-style swing from platform to platform, and an optional controlled free fall off a platform 9 to 12 metres up. Riders who want it can do one line upside down.

The tour takes an hour to an hour and a half, ending with fruit and water. Children from four can ride, tandem with a guide if nervous, and the weight range is 15 to 130 kg (110 kg for the jump). Anyone not riding can wait at covered picnic tables near the lines. Transport from Tamarindo, Langosta, Pinilla and Avellanas is available.
