Sportfishing charter from Marina Los Sueños

The marina at the north end of Herradura Bay is a short run from the offshore billfish grounds, and twenty-fish sailfish days are common in season. The peak is the dry season, December through June, when sailfish and black, blue and striped marlin are all around. Marlin keep turning up at the nearby seamounts through the green season too.

The charter fleet here is large and certified by the tourism ministry. Offshore days chase marlin, sailfish, yellowfin tuna and dorado. Inshore trips stay closer to the coast for big roosterfish and dorado, on spinning rods or a fly rod. Each January, February and March the marina hosts the three legs of a billfish tournament series, so those weeks are the busiest on the docks.

Afterwards the marina village has four waterfront restaurants, one of them a sports bar looking over the boats.
