Sunset catamaran sail from Tamarindo
Day trip · Costa Rica
The Tamarindo catamarans leave straight from the beach in town, so you board from the sand rather than a dock. The afternoon sail sets off at about half past one and runs roughly four hours along the Gold Coast's long beaches and rocky headlands, with one stop to swim or snorkel when the sea is calm enough. Food and drinks are included, and the boat comes home under the sunset. Dolphins and turtles turn up some days, and humpback whales in season.
The Flamingo boats further up the coast start from a marina and add kayaks at their bay stop; this one is simpler if you are staying in Tamarindo.
