Sunset sail from Palm Beach
Day trip · Aruba
More than a dozen catamarans and sailboats work off Palm Beach, and in the hour before dark many of them push off the piers for the same show: a slow run along the leeward coast while the sun goes down into the Caribbean. The sea on this side is calm and the trade winds steady. Most sunset trips last about two hours with an open bar (the Aruba Ariba is the island's cocktail) and snacks. Some boats stretch it to a three-hour dinner cruise with a barbecue, and some run adults-only versions with a DJ.
Boarding is from the beach piers in front of the high-rise hotels, so from those hotels you just walk over, about half an hour before sailing. Flat shoes are better than heels on deck.
