Varadero Skydiving Centre

Tandem jumps go up from a small airfield just west of Varadero, a few hundred metres from the bridge onto the peninsula, and come down on the beach. After a briefing you are strapped to an instructor who handles the exit, the freefall and the canopy. The plane climbs to between 2,500 and 3,000 metres, freefall lasts about 35 seconds, and the whole descent takes around ten minutes with the sand and sea below. Hotel transfers come with the package; photos and video cost extra. Solo jumps are for licensed skydivers only. The centre also flies ultralights from points along the beach.
