Mystic Mountain

A chairlift, the Sky Explorer, carries you up through the rainforest above Ocho Rios to the park on the ridge. Most people come for the bobsled, inspired by Jamaica's Olympic team: a rail ride of about a kilometre through the trees with a handbrake in the sled, so you set your own speed. The Raggamuffin coaster adds 14 fast turns hanging out over the town, and a zipline runs from platform to platform over the canopy. There are also electric ATVs on the trails, a hummingbird garden, an artisan village and food stalls selling jerk chicken and pizza.

Rides are sold in packages, from the chairlift alone up to everything. The park is about two kilometres west of town and a favourite with cruise passengers, so it is worth coming early or on a day with no ship in port. Packages that add Dunn's River Falls make a full day of it.
