Parque Los Arrieros

The arrieros, the mule drivers of the old coffee region, are the theme of this park at Km 3 on the Montenegro to Quimbaya road. The ticket covers eight shows and 14 hands-on activities. Comedians tell trova and jokes, short plays act out a muleteer's working day, dancers in costume clack machetes, and a singer performs in the fonda. In the Muestra Arriera you watch a team load and pack the mules.

Between shows there are coffee lessons from bean to cup, old games like sack races, a petting farm with llamas, goats, sheep and donkeys, Willys jeeps to pose in, colonial-style buildings and a crafts shop. Allow at least six hours and arrive before 10 so the first show doesn't start without you. Outside food and drink are not allowed, but pets are welcome under supervision.
