Pirangi natural pools boat trip

About a kilometre off Pirangi do Sul, south of Natal, banks of coral break the surface at low tide and leave warm, shallow pools between the reefs. They are shallow enough that you don't need to be able to swim, which is what made them popular. Daily boat trips and private speedboats go out on the low tides; when the tide comes in the pools disappear.

Pirangi do Sul is the quiet side of the river mouth, with small waves and reefs along the shore. Pirangi do Norte, across the river, is the busy summer beach with the bars.
