Sunset cruise from Sosúa Bay

Most of this one happens in daylight, on a catamaran that finishes as the light goes. Pickups from Puerto Plata, Cofresí and Cabarete hotels start soon after lunch, and the boat leaves Sosúa beach for about four hours. A guide takes you snorkelling at two reefs off the coast, one of them Three Rocks (Los Cabezos), where three tall rocks stand on the bottom. Between the swims comes a barbecue on board and an open bar of rum, beer and soft drinks, and on some boats a slide off the top deck. The sail home along the golden beaches of the north coast is the sunset part.
