Scape Park

Adventure park · Punta Cana & Bávaro, Dominican Republic

More than fifteen attractions share one ticket here, and the point of the place is that you choose the order and can repeat anything as often as you like, at your own pace. It sits inside the private Cap Cana development, about 5 km from Juanillo Beach.

The water is the best of it. Hoyo Azul, the blue cenote under a cliff, is a 15-minute forest walk away. Cave Swim puts a helmet on you and lets you float in a dim cavern pool about two metres deep, and Saltos Azules has waterfalls, a trapeze-style Monkey Jump and hammocks slung over the water. Iguabonita is a 20-minute guided walk through a cave of rock formations; it is humid and slippery underfoot.

On the zip lines, the Eco Splash area mixes short runs with water cannons and fountains (riders must be 1.20 to 1.98 m tall and 27 to 127 kg), and the Super Ride flies you face down. Faunaland, a farm corner called El Rancho, a cultural trail and Mini Scape, a small zone with its own little zip line and pools for young children, round it out. Buggy rides and a catamaran cruise to the beach cost extra. Several of the water and zip attractions are off limits in pregnancy and for people with heart or mobility problems. Bring a swimsuit, a towel and closed shoes with grip.
