Xplor

Fourteen ziplines in two circuits, about four kilometres of cable in all, with the highest platform 45 metres up. Between the lines you drive an amphibious vehicle along jungle tracks, over bridges and through flooded caves, paddle a raft with hand paddles down an underground river, and swim a river among stalactites.

Xplor runs from 9 to 5, Monday to Saturday, and the buffet lunch plus unlimited fruit, smoothies, cookies and soft drinks are part of the ticket. It is the most physical of the Xcaret parks. You must be able to swim, wear closed shoes and a helmet, and be at least five; the ziplines also need a height of about 1.1 metres and a weight between 40 and 136 kilos. It is not advised in pregnancy or for anyone with heart trouble, a recent operation, back pain, a fear of heights or motion sickness.
