Club Med Cancun sits on its own peninsula at the southern tip of Cancun's hotel zone, with three beaches, the reef-protected Caribbean on one side and a mangrove lagoon on the other. The multi-phase renovation that disrupted much of 2026 has wrapped up, and as of October 2026 Club Med markets the results as open: the Aguamarina Family Oasis with relocated Mayan-themed kids' clubs, an oceanfront family pool and an all-day snack and mocktail bar, 10 new pickleball courts on a Sports & Wellness Island, and renovated Superior and Deluxe rooms with Yucatan-inspired decor. The premium area is the Exclusive Collection Space, open to guests 8 and up, with suites, an infinity pool by the lagoon and the Jade lounge bar.

The core Club Med experience is the draw: G.O. staff who run the shows and the activities, 32 included activities from flying trapeze and sailing school to archery, tennis and yoga, and kids' clubs from 4 months through the teens. La Hacienda is the main restaurant with five dining areas and live cooking stations, Taco Arte does Mexican on the beach, La Estancia is an Argentine grill, and La Bodega pours wine plus daily tequila and mezcal tastings. Watch the room category, because renovated rooms are sold alongside older ones, and note that the youngest clubs, scuba, golf and the spa cost extra.
It suits families who want the full Club Med kids' program in Mexico, with Chichen Itza, cenotes and Isla Mujeres all reachable as excursions. Against Club Med Punta Cana it usually costs more for a comparable room; Punta Cana offers more space for the money, while Cancun wins on easy access, the newly renovated family area and the option of a taxi into the hotel zone. Cancun (Benito Juarez) charges a state environmental tax of 82.11 pesos per room per night from February 2026, so budget for it.
