Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach is the clifftop resort in Cabo San Lucas that trades a swimmable beach for one of the best views in Mexico. It sits on a private bluff inside the gated Quivira Los Cabos development, facing straight into the Pacific, and the sunsets are what guests talk about afterwards. - −You cannot swim at the beach. Pueblo Bonito says plainly that its Pacific-facing resorts do not have swimmable beaches, and this is one of them. You get unlimited access to a private beach for walking and sitting, but actual swimming happens in the pools
- −The swimmable-beach fix is more work than it sounds, and it is not Pacifica. Pacifica faces the Pacific too and is also non-swimmable. The swimmable sand is Medano Beach at Rose and Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos, reached on the free inter-resort shuttle, which runs roughly hourly and wants booking ahead in high season. A beach day becomes a logistics exercise
- −Timeshare pressure is a real feature of the stay. Guests through 2026 describe being pitched a presentation at check-in, sweetened with cash or a dining discount. Decline at the desk and keep declining; the time is never worth the voucher
- −The clifftop setting means steep grades and long distances between the buildings, pools and restaurants, with a sprawling layout that takes a couple of days to learn. It is hard going for anyone with mobility limits

Pueblo Bonito lists both Manila Bar and The Bistro at Sunset Beach as closed for maintenance, and The Bistro was the 24-hour restaurant, so round-the-clock eating means room service rather than a dining room. If you have read that the resort's headline restaurant is Monalisa, that is wrong and worth correcting: Sunset Monalisa is an independent restaurant out on the Corridor, not a Pueblo Bonito outlet, and it is not on any all-inclusive plan. What Sunset Beach actually has is LaFrida, a AAA Four Diamond Mexican fine-dining room with ocean views, alongside Zao Shen for wok-cooked Asian served family style, Tazuna for sushi on an open-air terrace, La Nao for breakfast and theme-night buffets in a glass and marble pavilion, the swim-up Aquabar & Grill, the Lobby Bar, The Market at Quivira food hall and The After sports bar, with Quivira Clubhouse and Quivira Steakhouse up at the golf course. As of October 2026 Manila Bar and The Bistro, the 24-hour restaurant, are both closed for maintenance. The all-inclusive plan covers unlimited dining, premium-brand drinks, snacks, 24-hour room service, activities and Wi-Fi, and extends to the sister resorts in Los Cabos with free shuttles between them, which is how guests get to a swimmable beach at all. Six pools, the Armonia Spa, a fitness center and exclusive access to the Jack Nicklaus Signature course at Quivira round it out. Recent guests are warm about the staff and the sheer size of the suites, while the recurring gripes are the distances, slow service at the busy pool bar and inconsistent maintenance.
This is the right Cabo resort for people who want space, scenery, golf and a quiet bluff, and the wrong one for anyone whose holiday depends on walking into the ocean. As of October 2026 a mid-season week for two adults works out around the mid $400s a night on the all-inclusive plan, with weeknights cheaper and December pushing well past $600, which puts it in the upper-middle of the Cabo market rather than at the top. Within the same family, Pacifica is the adults-only 18+ option at 201 rooms but faces the same unswimmable Pacific, while Rose and Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos sit on Medano Beach, closer to town and to swimming. The airport is about 45 minutes away, downtown Cabo San Lucas is a short drive, and the concierge can arrange sport fishing, whale watching, zip-lining and day trips out to Todos Santos and La Paz. Go in ready to say no to the timeshare pitch and the rest of the stay is a good one.
