Cenote Dos Palmas

A family runs this one, on the dirt road that leads past the Dos Ojos park, and you can drive straight past the Dos Ojos ticket office to reach it. The pool sits in a rounded limestone hollow with an island of rock in the middle, set with hammocks and tables, and the clear blue water lets you snorkel along the walls over the formations.

Fewer people come than to the big park next door, and freshwater turtles live in the pool and will share it with you. Cave divers use it as a way into the larger system. There is also space to camp.
