Six freshwater pools, mini golf, six tennis courts, archery, kayaks and pontoon rides on the lagoon fill the days, and there are separate clubs for ages 1 to 3, 4 to 12 and 13 to 18. The friction is real though. Sargassum made the beach unusable for guests in May and June 2026, several described water that was brown and smelly, the shuttle train that connects the complex has drawn 30 to 40 minute waits, food opinion swings hard in both directions with illness reports in the mix, and the front desk has a reputation for pushing paid upgrades at check-in.

This works best for families and couples who want a very large resort with dine-around variety and a fresh room, who will happily spend pool days if the beach turns, and who are not counting the spa as included. It is a poor choice if your trip hinges on swimmable ocean in the May to October window, or if you want a small, quiet property you can cross on foot. It sits alongside the Iberostar and Barcelo mega-complexes further north, and the January 2026 refresh is its clearest advantage over the older rooms at both, at roughly $390 to $400 a night for two.
