Karisma no longer manages the property; owner Grupo Lomas took over direct management in late 2023 and the resort trades under the More Inclusive by Lomas Hospitality banner.

The practical case for it is food, pools and the bundled extras. Ten restaurants and no surcharges, with Driftwood's open-air breakfasts, Mia Casa Dorado's Italian and Klay Talay's Asian menu the ones travelers single out, plus a bar list that runs from Gaviotas swim-up with its Balinese beds to La Cantina's evening-only Mexican cantina. Five pools include an infinity pool and a lazy river, and the swim-up suites sit on the main pool. More Inclusive is worth real money when you use it: airport transfers both ways, the catamaran reef-snorkel from Maroma, the Maroma Beach Club day with brunch, an Aqua Nick visit and the eco-ranch with its cenote. The honest downsides are the beach, which is small and erosion-worn with a breakwater, the 2026 sargassum season, the heaviest on record for this coast, and the humidity that traveler forums keep mentioning in the rooms. The hydrotherapy circuit at the Náay Spa is a Royal Retreat perk, not a general inclusion. Pre-closure reports described a gap between older and newer sections; what reopens in December 2026 should be judged fresh.

This is a resort for couples marking something, honeymoons, anniversaries and milestone birthdays, who want indulgence over party energy and will actually use the included excursions. It sits in a tier with Excellence Riviera Cancun and Secrets Akumal, and tends to win when all-suite oceanfront and the bundled extras matter more than a wide beach. Exchange privileges with the larger El Dorado Seaside Palms next door add variety in normal times. Kantun Chi's cenotes are minutes away near Puerto Aventuras, Xel-Ha is 19 kilometres, Xcaret 24, Tulum's ruins about 40, and Coba makes a long half day. Anyone who wants Playa del Carmen's Fifth Avenue on tap should note it is a 30-kilometre taxi each way.
